where love is alive

Many of you have probably turned on your televisions over the past 2 weeks and noticed a game being played that we are not real familiar with and that is futbol.  Now that’s not football, as in GO VOLS!  It’s futbol as in soccer!  What you have probably been seeing is the World Cup, which is going on in South Africa right now.  When I turn on the World Cup I am reminded of the missionary friends I made while I traveled to South Africa last October.  They were so excited about the World Cup coming to South Africa because of the ministry opportunities that it would present.  One of the most important opportunities was the possibility of sharing Christ with some people from North Korea, the nation that is known to persecute Christians more than any other place in the world.  One of the missionaries, Kurt Holiday, has been posting some items on facebook about sharing with the North Korean people.  One of his posts mentioned he had been able to give out several books and even a few copies of The Jesus Film in the Korean language.  Imagine what a difference this could make in the lives of a few people that may never have heard the gospel!  As I watch all the countries represented there I can’t help but notice how many are Muslin nations and it makes me immediately send up prayers for Kurt and his team.  Please keep them in your personal prayers.  They are getting the opportunities that they will never have again.  Some may encounter Christ for the ONLY time in their lives, because of these missionaries.  Engage in the spiritual battle on their behalf.  We may not be able to be there, but we can take part in the ministry with our prayers.  Know that Satan is active, and we need to be active as well!
