Take A Hike – On October 27 we will leave the church at 7:00 a.m. to climb Mt. LeConte.  This hike is about 11 miles round trip and it is one of the most scenic trails in the Smokies.  Bring a sack lunch to eat at the summit. We will stop for supper on the way home. Everyone should experience Mt. LeConte.  You can sign up by calling the church office or marking the worship registration form.

The Helping Hands S.S. Class is having a Yard Sale on Sat., October 15, from 7 to 12. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church by 11 a.m. Mon.-Fri. Proceeds go to their mission projects.

Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes need to be completed and back to the church by Sunday, November 20. Boxes and information sheets are in the Welcome Center. You can also go to for information on packing a shoebox. Shoeboxes go all over the world to needy children. Pack your box with suggested items from the list and $7 for shipping and other project costs.

Indoor Soccer Team – If you are interested in participating in NCBC’s very own indoor soccer team, please sign up in the Welcome Center this Sunday.  The price per person is approximately $10.  No experience necessary, this is a co-ed team, you can play in tennis shoes, and all skill levels are welcome.  If you have any questions, you can email Adam Ferguson at for more information. Games start in early November.  You must be at least 16 years old to play.

During the month of October we will be collecting food items for The Caring Place. Barrels are located in the Welcome Center and Annex. Lists of items needed are available in the front windows or in the church office.

We will be having our annual Campfire Worship on Sunday evening, October 23 at 6 p.m. at The Shed. We will roast hot dogs by the fire and then have an informal worship service under the stars. Everything is FREE. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the registration form.

Trunk or Treat – will be Wed., Oct. 26, beginning at 6 p.m. We need people to decorate trunks, people to help with booths, and we need a lot of wrapped candy to give away. Place the candy in the trunks in the Welcome Center and Annex. See Amy Wilkins if you can help. We had 18 trunks last year, and would like to have 25 or more this year.

Our church will be participating in the Block Party in downtown Cleveland on Monday, October 31. If you would like to help at our booth, please sign up on the registration form. We will be making complimentary portraits.

Deacon Ordination – On Sunday evening, October 16 at 6:00 p.m. we will be ordaining Mike Baines. All ordained me are invited to meet in the Annex at 4:30 p.m. for the ordination council.

Missing – We are missing one of the black round tablecloths from the MAC Building. Please return it to the church office if you have it. Thank you.
