Campfire Worship – Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6:00 p.m. at The Shed. – Join the NCBC family tradition of roasting hotdogs around the campfire and sharing a time of worship under the stars. Everything furnished, dress is casual.

The Men on Mission Men’s Breakfast will be Saturday, October 12 at 8 a.m. in the Annex. Chaplain James Saunders of the U.S. Army Chaplain Corp will be our guest speaker. Sign up on the registration form if you plan to attend. We have a few projects to do after breakfast.

The RA’s are collecting new pairs of men’s socks to be donated to a local charity. Collection boxes are in the Welcome Center, Annex, and MAC Building.

Sunday, October 13 is Ministry Night. We will meet in the Sanctuary at 6 p.m. The different ministries will be explained and we will divide up and go to the ministry of your choice. We will be packing shoeboxes, ministering to the homeless, making items to be distributed to Ocoee Middle School teachers, and a few other ministries. Everyone welcome!

The Women on Mission are sponsoring a Chili Supper and Dessert Auction on Tuesday, October 22. Chili will be served from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. You may bid on the cakes from 5:30 to 6:45 and pick them up after the bids are over. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person, children 5 and under eat free. The proceeds will go to the mission trip to Kenya. If you can donate a dessert for the auction, please indicate that on the registration form.

We will be ordaining Chris Turner and Jeff Carson as deacons on Sunday, October 20 in our 6 p.m. service. All ordained men are asked to meet at 4:30 p.m. in the Annex for the Ordination Council.

On Sunday, October 27 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. we will have a Fall Festival. We will have carnival games, candy, live music, inflatables, popcorn, snow cones, performances from our preschool and children’s choirs, face painting, and a photo booth. Everyone welcome. If you, as an individual or a class group, will host a game booth, please let Chrystal Bates know as soon as possible. Also, we need bags of individual wrapped candy donated. A collection box is in the Welcome Center.

Dr. Jay challenges all hikers! On Thursday, October 24, we will meet at the church at 8 a.m. to head to the Great Smoky Mountains. We will take the trail to The Chimney Tops. Bring water and a sack lunch. (The hike is 4 miles round trip.) We will stop on the way home for supper. All participants are welcome.

October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month. The Seekers Sunday School Class is assisting a fund raising effort for Lauren Jones, a 3 year old with Spina Bifida. She is the granddaughter of Mike and Sue Jones and the daughter of Jesse and Cassandra Jones. She also has Cerebral Palsy and is prone to seizures. Funds are being raised to purchase a Service Dog for Lauren. If you would like to share a gift, contributions may be made through our church office or the Seeker’s Class.
