where love is alive

Upcoming Opportunities!

As I write this week, I’m thinking about this past Sunday and the ministry opportunities that were met. Members of the NCBC family ministered to Bradley Healthcare and Rehab, New Hope Pregnancy Center, Life Bridges, and Ocoee Middle School. I’m so proud of the response from the NCBC family and there’s plenty of evidence that relationships have been built for future ministry. With that in mind, I’m drawn to consider further ministry we can provide.

In the coming weeks and months, we have more chances to grow and to reach out in love others. My hope is that each of us would prayerfully consider those areas in which the Lord might utilize us for the building of His kingdom. If you feel led to participate or have questions regarding these opportunities, please feel free to notify the church office (476-8524) or me (303-8429).

Jesus, The One and Only – Beginning April 1, we will be offering a daytime women’s Bible study from Beth Moore entitled, Jesus, the One and Only. Come along with Beth Moore on a life-changing journey which will lead you through the hills of Galilee with the Teacher, across the lake with the Master, and finally, on the road toward the cross with the Savior. Get to know Jesus intimately … as though you had walked with Him during His days of earthly ministry. This 11-week, in-depth Bible study includes weekly personal assignments and 11 video sessions taped on location in Jerusalem and throughout Israel. This study will be led by Linda Alford and takes place from 10:00 am-Noon on Tuesdays. Cost is $16.00. Sign up on the registration form if you plan to attend.

VBS 2014 – It’ll be here before you know it! Every year we point it out…VBS is our church family’s largest outreach to the surrounding community. This is a special opportunity to reach kids right here in Bradley County. Here’s what I want you to hear: YOU ARE NEEDED. Imagine the impact our Lord can have in the area in and around NCBC if those of us in this body make the decision to surrender our wills to Him and provide the love of Christ to the children (and families) we meet. I dare say we can never have too many volunteers. Please prayerfully consider helping us with this ministry. In the coming weeks, we’ll announce meetings for VBS workers. If you’re just curious about how you might participate, come and join in. Asking questions does not obligate you to anything. We will offer training opportunities this year.  VBS is a unique challenge. When I think about past experiences, I think of the ‘blessed exhaustion’ that comes Friday evening. Trust me when I say, you won’t regret your investment in this ministry. For many children, VBS is the only exposure to the gospel they receive. Join us in ministering to these children. Call the church office if you can help or say “yes” if you are asked to help.

Blessings, Kevin
