where love is alive

Summer’s Coming!

As the set and preparations for the upcoming Easter Passion play, The Choice, have begun to take shape, I can’t help but look forward to all the buzz and excitement that will, sooner than you think, herald the approach of this year’s VBS program – Museum of Unseen Riches! Every year we point it out…VBS is our church family’s largest outreach to the surrounding community. This is a special opportunity to reach kids right here in Bradley County. Here’s what I want you to hear: YOU ARE NEEDED. Imagine the impact our Lord can have in the area in and around NCBC if those of us in this body make the decision to surrender our wills to Him and provide the love of Christ to the children (and families) we meet. I dare say we can never have too many volunteers.

Please prayerfully consider helping us with this ministry. Our first planning meeting is Sunday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in the Choir Room. If you’re just curious about how you might participate, come and join in. Asking questions does not obligate you to anything. We will offer training opportunities this year.  VBS is a unique challenge. When I think about past experiences, I think of the ‘blessed exhaustion’ that comes Friday evening. Trust me when I say, you won’t regret your investment in this ministry. For many children, VBS is the only exposure to the gospel they receive. Join us in ministering to these children. Call the church office if you can help or in any way.

Also coming up this summer is our annual partnership with Chilhowee Area Ministries in the Great Smokies KOA campground in Townsend, TN! We recently attended an orientation meeting with dozens of other team leaders and are very excited about what the Lord has in store for that area this year. Within the next few weeks we will announce an informational meeting regarding our trip, which takes place July 6-11. If you think you might be willing and able to help us out, we’d love to meet with you and provide more information so you can decide if this is an investment of time you would like to make.

As spring kicks into beautiful full gear and school begins to wind down, we’re praying that all of you and your families have a blessed season!
