where love is alive

Bidding You a Fond “See You Sunday!”

As I’m sure many of you saw in Dr. Jay’s Evangel article last week, I have resigned my position as Minister of Education here at NCBC.  He expressed sadness, and I certainly get that.  I’ve been on staff nearly nine years and it’s definitely not an easy transition to make.  I love and appreciate each member of our staff and they are a family within my church family.  They can always be counted on for exceeding support of one another in all kinds of circumstances.  Romans 12:15 says, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep,” and they certainly live that out.  Deep, sincere gratitude to Dr. Jay, Lanny Green, Jason Cox, Holly Cox, Jeanne Franklin, Rachel Brew, Brandi Lonas, Liz Wells, Janice Carroll, and Tiffany Hawkins.  Let me also express thanks to Jean Tucker, Kathy Godfrey, and Larry and Nancy Sharo who were on staff when I started.  They’re each a particular blessing to me!

As for what’s next for me, I determined that I should finish what I started when I completed my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy.  With that goal in mind, I’ll now focus my efforts on the process of completing my licensure, which will open new and additional doors for me to help others.  This is potentially a two year process and I will appreciate your prayers as I navigate that path.

In the meantime, Leslie, Isaac, Matilda and I will still be right here at NCBC just like always!  Choir, Sunday School, mission trips, Ice Cream Chill-Offs, DNOW, and everything else.  This is our church home and we definitely do not want to change that.  So like my title says, this isn’t a farewell at all…just a grateful “”See you Sunday!”  We love and appreciate you all!
