where love is alive

Hello, Church Family,

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”                                                    ~ Philippians 1:3-6

First of all, just let me say, it is so good to be home! Even though the past five years was a wonderful experience in Soddy Daisy, and God worked in our lives and the life of the church in so many ways, we always knew in our hearts that we were there for only a season.  And, we always prayed that God might one day lead us back to you, our family at NCBC.  We are so grateful and thankful that He did!

Over the next few weeks, as I am settling into this new position of Pastor to Adults and Family Ministries, please pray for me to have wisdom as I seek to support, encourage, love and promote the many ministries of NCBC. In one aspect, this is a totally new area of ministry for me, but in another way, it is simply putting into play the many life and church experiences and lessons that God has taught me over the past 25 years of ministry. It’s my prayer and goal that He will use me in ways that I do not even understand to minister to you, support our pastor, staff, and this great church, and above all bring honor, glory and praise to our Lord!

As we start thinking about fall, I want to go ahead and give you a big heads up of an upcoming event. Sunday, November 3rd will be Sunday School High Attendance Sunday. Our theme will be the NCBC 400, with, you guessed it… a Sunday School attendance goal of 400. This may seem ambitious, but I have no doubt we will meet and most likely surpass this goal.  Dr. Jay and I will have more information in the coming weeks regarding High Attendance Sunday complete with individual class goals and class rewards. But for now, start thinking of those Sunday School members who have not been attending lately, as well as family members and friends who may not be involved in a local church. Make a note of these people and go ahead and start the process of inviting them to join us for Sunday School, November 3rd.

Again, it is a great honor for my family and me to be at NCBC! I am looking forward to working together with you!

In His Great Love,

Patrick
