where love is alive

Wow!  December is here already!  It’s hard to believe that the Woodens have been back with our NCBC family for 2 months, and what a joy it has been!  The old saying is true, “There’s No Place Like Home!”

During the past couple of months, as I have been getting settled into my new position here at NCBC, I have intentionally put the focus of my ministry on “being TOGETHER.”  It’s something we should never lose sight of.  Hebrews 10:24-25 says it like this… 24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”  The bottom line is, we need each other.  Life is hard, God is good, and we not only draw strength from our growing relationship with our Father, but through the relationships we have with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  We need each other, we need to be TOGETHER.

As we head into the 2020, my plan is to build on this precept, by working with our Sunday School teachers to encourage class attendance and to contact those who are absent and to learn how we can effectively minster to them.  It was wonderful to see 393 in Sunday school on November 3rd, and to welcome 73 senior adults to our senior adult luncheon on November 21st.  I sense excitement and happiness among our people when we are TOGETHER as a church family.  This excitement and enthusiasm can be contagious… we need more of this!

As we focus on outreach and welcoming new people to NCBC, it’s my prayer that the love of God will pour from our hearts into this community.  NCBC is known for being the church where love is alive… let’s truly live that motto!  Let’s share what we have with those around us!

In the New Year, you will see the following:

  • Re-vamped Greeting Teams
  • Sunday School Teacher’s Meetings
  • Steak with the Staff – A luncheon for guests attending NCBC who would like to meet our staff and be introduced to our ministries
  • Potential New Members Fellowship Brunch
  • New Member’s Classes
  • More Fellowship Opportunities

I truly believe that exciting days lie ahead for NCBC.  I can’t wait to see what God does through this body of believers as we serve Him TOGETHER!
