where love is alive

Rise Up and Praise

Psalm 68

1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds[b];
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.

         Be joyful in the Lord for He is strong and mighty His enemies fall before him.  It is wonderful to read scripture like this and know that we have many reasons to be joyful.  Although in the light of this pandemic that we are in it can be easy to lose sight of Joy and why we should have joy.  Let’s not forget all His promises and benefits that come with being a follower of Christ.  We have a hope not in earthly things, because we see how quickly they can be gone, but we have a hope that come from above.

Psalm 103

1Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things.

         From the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  From the God who has promised us a hope and a future and an eternal everlasting reward.  John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

Praise is our weapon and our tool to get through these hard times.  We have a father who has not forgotten about us.  Lean into Him today.  Pray and draw closer to Him and lift your voice in praise.  It will lift your heart and help to restore your Joy.

God Bless,

Lanny
