where love is alive

Hello fellow church members!  I hope you all are well and for those of you still staying at home, know that we miss you all very much!  We look forward to the day we can all gather together and not have to worry about Covid-19 and the way it might affect each of us individually.  I spoke to the students a few weeks back about the ways this season of our lives has been different, and one of my points was that I haven’t had the opportunity to see some of my favorite people in months!  It has robbed us of precious relationships that come through being a part of a local body of believers.  I’m grateful for the chance to get to worship in person with our church, but I literally hate the fact that Covid-19 is stealing our church family members away from us.  I don’t say that at all to make anyone feel bad for staying away, because we ALL have to do what is best for ourselves and our families.  I say it because I just miss being able to be with our entire church family.  You all are loved and a part of a local church that the Holy Spirit has put together, and we miss you.

Paul says in Philippians 1:3-6, “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.  Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.  And, I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”  This is how we feel about our entire church family.  We serve together, grieve together, celebrate together, laugh together and worship together.  My prayer for you is that each of you feel connected to our local church, even if you haven’t been here in months.  May you feel the blessings that being connected to the local church brings, even if from your own living room.  God bless you and keep you all!
