where love is alive

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

Matthew 28:6

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

What an exciting time it is to be able to celebrate the Easter season once again!  This last year brought with it difficult circumstances and emotions, many of which we have never experienced before now.  For several months in a row, I would look at my blank calendar with sadness as almost everything in our lives was put on hold. However, now I look at the calendar and actually have some blanks filled and the most exciting ones being the events surrounding Easter!  It is such a blessing to me to be able to share with children and families the wonderful news that Christ has risen, and when we put our trust in Him death has no hold on us because we have victory through Jesus!

The first Easter celebration will be Easterfest which is set for Wednesday, March 31st from 6:00-7:30pm.  We will have a petting zoo, hot dogs and popcorn, and other details to be added. Be sure to keep an eye out for more information as plans are finalized.

The second Easter event will be the Egg-stra Special Easter Egg Hunt.  This is where I, along with helpers will go to the homes of our participating church families to hide eggs and leave an activity bag for each child.  We did this last year to celebrate Easter in a socially distanced way and had so much fun in the process I decided to repeat it!

If you are interested in being involved in either of these family Easter activities, please let me know.  Ways you can help are:  praying, volunteering your time for the events, and sending individually wrapped candy.  There are totes in the Welcome Center and in the vestibule to place the bags of candy in.  You can also drop candy donations off at the Church Office during the week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Thank you so much for your love and support of our children’s ministries!
