Childcare Workers

Isn’t the weather absolutely gorgeous these days?  Just being outside in the warm sunshine is so refreshing and gives us a glimpse of summer, which is just around the corner!  With summer comes one of my most favorite times of the year…Vacation Bible School!  I am thrilled to announce that VBS is back!  This year’s theme is “Mystery Island:  Tracking Down the One True God.”  It will take place the week of June 21st-25th from 9:00-12:00 each morning.  There will be classes for four-year-olds through fifth grade students.  We would love to have you be a part of this exciting week of ministry for our children.  We need volunteers for the following areas:

  • Teach a class or be a classroom helper
  • Help prepare and serve snacks to the children
  • Manage the daily attendance
  • Participate in the daily dramas
  • Help with registration and “traffic control” the first few days

If you are interested in working with Lanny and the drama team, there will be an interest meeting this Sunday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m in the sanctuary.  Because of the planning time crunch we are in this year, this will be the only meeting before assigning characters and beginning practices.  If you would like to participate, but cannot attend the meeting, please contact Lanny as soon as possible to make him aware of your interest and get the needed information.

I am beginning to fill spots for teachers and helpers in all areas.  If you have taken a role in the past, I will be contacting you to see if you plan to serve again this year.  If you have not served in VBS in the past, we would love to have you!  Vacation Bible School is definitely a group effort and it takes a rather large group to cover it all, so we can surely use you!  Once I get the teachers and helpers in place, I will have a meeting to go over curriculum and important information.

In the meantime, I ask that you begin to pray for VBS.  Pray that God puts together an amazing group of workers to lead the children in Bible study that points them to salvation through Jesus.  Also pray that the hearts of the children who will be attending are being prepared now for the truth that will be shared during the week.  Thank you all for your continued support of our precious children!                                                                                                              -Holly

We would love to have you hold babies or read to a toddler during the 11:00 service.  If you would be willing to help in the preschool area during this time on a quarterly rotation, please see Holly Cox.
