where love is alive

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, and we stop to reflect on what this season means, I pray that for us as believers, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be just a holiday on the calendar, but truly a way of life for us.  We have so much to be thankful for.  God has provided so much for us in true abundance.  He is Jehovah Jireh.  God our provider.  He supplied us an escape from our sins and gave us the promise of a future.  In times of trouble and sadness we can remember that we have a hope in Jesus Christ.  We have so much to be thankful for every day.  I want to share with you some scripture that encourages us to live thankful lives:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Isaiah 12: 3-5

With Joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!  In that wonderful day you will sing: ‘Thank the Lord!  Praise his name!  Tell the nations what he has done.  Let them know how mighty he is!  Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.  Make known his praise around the world.

I Chronicles 16: 34

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!  His faithful love endures forever.

Hebrews 12:28

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.

2 Corinthians 9:15

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

There are so many other exaltations for thanksgiving in the Bible.  I would encourage you to do a search and read them all.  Let your heart be encouraged to live a life of thanksgiving and change the world around you.  Have a blessed week.
